Film Development & Scanning
You can drop off your film at our store or at one of our partner drop-off locations, or send it to us by mail. We’ll develop it carefully and create high-quality scans, which you’ll receive digitally.
We develop all standard formats as well as large formats:
- 35mm (incl. Half-Frame)
- 120 (medium format)
We offer the following development processes:
- Colour negative (C-41)
- Black and white (B/W)
- Motion picture film (ECN-2) - with & without Remjet
Development, including scanning, usually takes about 5 business days. The exact duration depends on the film type and our current workload.
In exceptionally busy times we'll warn you upfront.
We scan at only the highest resolutions available from our scanners. See all resolutions from our Fuji Frontier and Noritsu scanners here.
That depends on the option you selected:
1. Cut, Uncut or Dispose
Depending on what you ordered, they will either be cut and packaged in pergamine folders or sleeved uncut into our pergamine sleeves.
If you selected the “Dispose” option, we will destroy and dispose your negatives in compliance with data protection regulations after sending the scans to you.
2. Pick up or Send Back
If you purchased our return service with your order, we will promptly send your negatives back to the address you provided.
Otherwise, we will archive your negatives for 1 year free of charge — after that, for €120 per year. Before the free archiving year ends, we will contact you to ask whether we should dispose of the negatives or send them back to you by mail. Or if you would like to pick them up.
If we do not receive a response, we will dispose of the negatives in compliance with data protection regulations.
If you’d like to come pick up your negatives, it would be great if you could let us know in advance via email. That way, we can have them ready for you to pick up, and you won’t have to wait while we dig them out of our archive ;)
Yes, you can specify when placing your order whether you want your film to be pushed. We will take this into account during processing.
If you would like your film to be scanned with borders or on a specific scanner (Frontier or Noritsu), please let us know either when you drop it off in person or – if you are dropping off your negatives at a collection point or sending them by mail – include a note with the relevant details.
Please note that border scans with us are only possible on Frontier and half-frame scans only on Noritsu.

Our selection includes 35mm, 120 medium format and our own large-format films (4x5, 5x7 and 8x10).
In addition to our own film products, such as the OptiColour 200, our Motion films (250D, 500T, DBL-X) and the SantaColor, we also offer films from manufacturers like Kodak, Ilford, CineStill, Fuji, Lomography and Kentmere.

Of course, you can send your film to us (We strongly recommend using a tracked delivery service!). Please use the following shipping address and include your order number in your package so we can match it to your account.
